DESTINATION

Worldmeetings presents the meeting destination Fes

A presentation entitled “Fes: a MICE destination” was recently organized by Worldmeetings Morocco (Best Event) together with Worldmeetings France (CDS) and their partners Sogatour, Hotel Jnan Palace and the National Tourism Authority of Morocco. The presentation took place at the Hotel Amarante, Arc de Triomphe in Paris on 26 June. The event took the form of a breakfast meeting extending into a relaxed afternoon with plenty of opportunity for networking amongst the speakers and numerous buyers present (corporate event planners and agencies from e.g. Alcatel, Mitsubishi Motors, IBM, BNP Paribas Assurance, Bouygues Telecom, Veolia Environnement, French Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Health, Tupperware, France 3, Renault, Adobe…). The attractions of the Imperial City of Fes as a meetings destination were explained in detail to the attendees: its conference hotels, convention centre and possible incentive programmes.

The speakers were Salima Haddour from the French office of the National Tourism Authority of Morocco who presented the destination of Morocco and Fes in particular; Naila Fennich, Marketing Director of Sogatour, who presented this Moroccan chain of hotels and resorts; Karim Sentici, General Manager of the Sogatour Jnan Palace Hotel, who presented his hotel and conference centre; Mouna Berkaoui, Director of Worldmeetings Morocco, who presented possible incentive programmes in the city of Fes. Finally Jan Reijer Brons, CEO of Worldmeetings, gave a presentation on the Worldmeetings procurement tool.

Fes is the oldest Imperial City in Morocco – a destination rich in culture and traditions, city of a thousand and one nights, spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco, its medina is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the largest medina in Morocco. For the organization of meetings and seminars, Fes can accommodate up to 1,500 people in conference rooms equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.

Fes allows you to combine your meetings with cultural experiences. Visits the city's numerous monuments in the medina: madrasas, fondouks, palaces, residences, mosques and fountains. Admire the city's handicrafts and riads (traditional Moroccan houses with interior gardens), relax in its thermal spas, relish its cuisine and take advantage of the varied sporting activities offered in the surrounding region, e.g. golf, tennis, cycling.
